Energy-infused painter!
Max Gleason is on the show today. He is a painter who mixes both the figurative with the abstract and patterned, resulting in a very contemporary style that I have to say I’m glad to see in Santa Barbara. And we’re lucky to have him as he moved here from New York City, and now is taking up residence in Santa Ynez.
He’s got his first Santa Barbara solo show coming up this Friday, opening at Silo 118 down in the FunkZone. It’s called “Waves and Particles” and you should make it a part of your FunkZone art walk that evening. The show is up through April 30.
In this interview we talk about his mix of styles, his muse, his education at RISD and in New York, and little things like energy, matter, and the universe.
You can find his work at maxgleason.com
